A happy time in my life was when I went to Santa Barbara with my boyfriend for my birthday. I was very happy.. Santa Barbara is gorgeous, clean, has beautiful beaches, majestic mountains, wineries, and really good restaurants. Our first experience was wine tasting. We met really nice people, and learned the history about different classes of wine. We learned about different flavors, color, and where wines come from and how they are made. Our favorite bottle of wine was a red, came from Spain, and made in 1987. It tasted fresh and sweet, perfect for a special birthday dinner. We went to a little restaurant that was recommended by a few people at the wineries. It had the best bbq chicken on pasta I ever tried. The food was healthy and delicious. The next morning we went to the beach. It was somewhat crowded; the people were swimming and playing around. The beach was very relaxing and we had an enjoyable time. I would love to go back and learn more about Santa Barbara.

I Feel Sad When I Get Sick

When I get sick, I can’t enjoy my day!

Every day I like to follow a routine, starting at 6:00 am every day. My favorite part in the morning is enjoying a cup of coffee. Then I go to the gym and work out for a little bit. After that I get ready to go school fresh and ready to learn a new lesson for a better understanding and a better education for my future. After school I like to go home and take a shower and relax for a little bit before I start my shift at work. Unfortunately, when I get sick I feel unhappy, sad, anxious, and stressed. For example I can’t work out because I don’t have any energy. At school I can’t pay attention, and at work I feel sad and stressed. I decided to avoid getting sick often. I am going to eat more fruits and vegetables and stop stressing. Also, I am going to exercise more often and take some vitamins for my body; I know I am going to enjoy my day  with a better health.

During the 1950s, most of the United States was segregated meaning discriminating on the basis of race. African Americans did not have the same freedoms as white Americans. They were treated as if they were not as important as white people. African Americans had to go separate schools, churches, and restaurants. The Supreme Court supported these divisions, calling them “separate but equal”. But things were not equal. Linda brown was an eight year old African American girl who lived in Topeka. She had to walk more than a mile to attend the Africa American School. Her parents applied and tried sending her to a public school attended by mostly white children, but she was not allowed because she was African American.  When Melba was in 7th grade, in 1954 the Supreme Court ruled Brown vs. Board of education. Melba was one of nine teenagers chosen to integrate Little Rock’s Central High School. Throughout her harrowing ordeal, Melba was taunted by her schoolmates and their parents. She was threatened by a lynch, mob’s rope, attacked with lighted sticks of dynamite, and injured by acid sprayed in her eyes. But through it all, she acted with dignity and courage, and refused to back down. She was an “innocent teenager an unexpected hero.” This is her remarkable story.

Should the United States be Fighting in Iraq?

iraq-war

5 years after the invasion of Iraq  it is a known fact that, in contradiction to the statements of the Busch Administration before March 2003, there were no weapons of mass destruction in the country. So what went wrong?
The outcome of this war for Iraq in my opinion will ultimatly mean freedom. United states ( with allied help) has freed Iraq of their tyrant leader and is aiding them with the creation of an army and new government. Fighting in Iraq is still in progress and America troops are dieing there on a daily basis. Most of the deaths are caused by either the Sunni Muslim or by the Al Qaeda terrorist network.

Our Solar System consists of a bright yellow star, eight planets, and all are different sizes.

* The sun is one star in a galaxy of more than 200 billion stars.

* Mercury is the first planet from the sun and   the smallest planet

*Venus is the second planet from the sun and is the brightest object in Earth’s sky.

*Earth is a place that is neither too hot. And not too cold but is just right for all sorts of life-forms to live in thrive.

*Mars has two large storms: one high above the northern pole, and another in the lower right portion of the planet.

*Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system.

*Saturn rotates rapidly, making each day only 10 hours long.

*Uranus is much farther away from the sun; Uranus takes 84 years to make a single orbit around the sun.

*Neptune’s deep blue color is caused by the high concentration of methone its atmosphere. The winds on Neptune are the fastest in the Solar System.

I will like to visit Yellowstone. Yellowstone is located in the Midway Geyser Basin. It ranks as the largest hot springs in the United States. I would like to see the vast canyons, beautiful waterfalls, vast travertine rocks formations, and bubbling mud pods. However, the most impressive thing I heard about Yellowstone is the Grand Prismatic Spring. I can’t wait to see Yellowstone. I hope to go soon.

Laguna Beach - 020 (Large)

Ingrid.  I moved to Orange County when I was 17 years old. Orange County is very different from my country. What I mostly like about Orange County are the beaches.  I like the beach and people in here love to surf, hang out at the beach, and have fun. Living here is safe, clean, and beautiful. The weather is always very pleasant in Orange County. They are many different people from other countries in Orange County; also the food is different and delicious too. Orange County offers us a good education for our futures. I am really happy to live in Orange County.
